ESGI imported an alembic copper still from Portugal to demonstrate the steam distillation process of obtaining hydrosol and essential oil from vetiver roots.  Two workshops were held on May 27th and June 3rd to educate participants on the proper use of this equipment.  The copper still will be available for use by these participants going forward.

A five day advanced vetiver handicraft workshop was held from July 17th to July 21st inclusive for eleven participants, facilitated by Handicraft Development Specialist Vonnie Roudette from St. Vincent.  The workshop was enthusiastically received and eight of the participants have gone on to produce crafts of a commercial standard.

An extensive nursery was planted to produce thirty thousand vetiver slips for distribution to farmers and other stakeholders.  The slips were distributed between July and December 2023.
